Reaching Capability Level 3: Process Definition, Deployment & Quantitative Management
The transition from Level 1 (Performed) and Level 2 (Managed) to Level 3 (Established): creating organizational standard process assets and tailoring guidelines.
ASPICE capability levels evaluate how maturely a process is executed:
• Level 0: Incomplete Process (goals are not systematically achieved). • Level 1: Performed Process (the process generally achieves its defined work products). • Level 2: Managed Process (planning, monitoring, work product management, and quality assurance are systematically controlled per PA 2.1 and PA 2.2). • Level 3: Established Process (the process is derived from organizational standard processes, tailored per organizational standards, and systematically deployed across all projects per PA 3.1 and PA 3.2).
Achieving Capability Level 3 is the mandatory threshold for Tier 1 suppliers bidding on high-integrity autonomous driving, chassis control, and powertrain programs with major automotive manufacturers.
